Eclipses are some of the most dramatic tools that the Universe uses to get us to pay attention to areas in our life that need to change.

The Sun in Scorpio illuminates the full Moon in Taurus in opposition, during the lunar eclipse, the Earth casts a shadow onto the Moon. As the Earth’s shadow blocks the light to the Moon, something similar takes place best likened to a restart to our computer. A reboot, a reprogramming takes place.

The longest lunar eclipse in 580 years lasting 3.5 hours, a profound realization and awakening can take place as we connect to the wisdom of our soul.

Something buried and hidden in your subconscious, especially on an emotional level, as the full Moon rules our emotions, can suddenly come to light. Something that has been blocking us, perhaps even for many years, stopping us from being true to ourselves and finding happiness.

Powerful revolutionary and evolutionary forces are brewing at this lunar eclipse that serves as a catalyst to break with the shackles of the past, as we stand between two worlds, the dying old and the emerging new. Our world around us is being deeply transformed as so too are we.

The first eclipse in Taurus since 2003/04, that initiates a new two-year cycle as the eclipses and north and south node of fate change signs to the Taurus/Scorpio axis.

Buddha had the same polarity of Taurus/Scorpio Sun and Moon in his natal chart. He was said to be the first human to attain enlightenment and then teach the truths that show all Human Beings how to transcend suffering.

We too are shifting away from pain and suffering, rising to a place of greater peace, stability and enlightenment, as we follow the magnetic pull towards the north node in Taurus during the next two years.

The Solar eclipse will be dynamic, positive and active, opening doors to new and exciting opportunities, while the lunar eclipse is of a more reflective emotional/spiritual nature.

Whatever you might need to release during this phase, trust the process, as eclipses remove what is no longer serving your higher soul’s plan. It is a course correction, aligning you to your soul’s true path.

The lunar eclipse is a culmination and release from this intensity, a force helping us to evolve to a higher level through the Scorpio evolutionary stages.

Scorpio is the most deeply emotional and powerful sign of the zodiac. Scorpio is represented by the Snake or Scorpion at the lowest level of evolution. He can evolve to become the healer and the mystic, with the potential to become and soar like an Eagle in complete awareness, and free of the traps and chains of his subconscious mind and inner destructive patterns.

Standing completely in his power at the third stage and the highest level, Scorpio can evolve to become the Phoenix, who has fully burnt away, toxic and destructive patterns of behaviour. He has had the strength to endure all manner of hardships, face his darkest fears and demons, transmuting them into the strength of character, authenticity and integrity. Rising like the Phoenix after being fully transformed and becoming fully empowered and enlightened.

It’s time to make a conscious decision to let go of any pain and suffering, especially in matters of love. Venus in Capricorn for the next four months, asks us to redefine what mature love is and teaches us, that healthy love doesn’t and shouldn’t hurt. It’s time to heal and let go of what causes you pain. We need to stop idealizing and romanticizing those that hurt us.

Eclipses are a karmic time when people and new loves can come into our lives that match our vibration while some karmic contracts will need to be released.

Relationships that don’t support freedom and growth, but keep the status quo at all costs out of fear, will be under critical review as Venus the ruler of the Moon now in Capricorn for the next four months, desires relationships based on more emotional maturity, responsibility, honesty instead of unhealthy dependencies and a more conscious level of relating.

It’s a time when Venus casts aside some of her carefree attitudes to make a commitment or let something go, asking us to think long-term. What do we want in a partner? What sort of standard do we want to set for all our relationships?

We may become more aware now, about why we attract and choose the wrong relationships, especially if it’s because we don’t value ourselves enough and we feel lacking in self-worth.

Once we learn to live from a healthy ego and self-love, everything begins to fall into place. We attract and can keep healthy friendships and relationships.
