On the night of October 31st, they celebrated Samhain, when it was believed that the ghosts of the dead returned to earth.

Scorpio is the sign that confronts us with our mortality and in many ways, the Taurus-Scorpio axis is the most spiritually transformative sign of the zodiac as Scorpio ultimately demands that we evolve and transform from within as this is the true meaning and purpose of life.
